Today, it was announced that starting next year, the St. Louis Cardinals will no longer be heard on KMOX, a station they've been with for 52 years. Read the story. This is a big shake-up. It's hard for us to even imagine the games not being on KMOX. There is much gnashing of teeth tonight in St. Louis. To mark this historic event, let's have some trivia!

My recall is that he was fired sometime after the 1969 season, either late 69 or early 1970. Details as to why were vague, to say the least. Later rumor suggested that Harry and the wife of Augie Busch may have had more than a passing acquaintance. Have no idea whether this was true or not.

I do remember one of the local stations catching up to Harry at some bar for a statement about his firing. Aside from giving a nondescript answer, he was conspicuously holding a bottle of Schlitz beer during the entire interview. Touche'
